Dr. Simmons has been in the private practice of plastic surgery since 1978. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and past president of the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons.

 

Dr. Simmons received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his internship at the Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals, then served two years as a flight surgeon, and Chief of Aeromedical Services in the United States Air Force. Returning to Houston, he completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training, again at the Baylor College of Medicine hospitals. He then served a preceptorship in plastic surgery in Seattle, WA., completing his formal plastic surgery training in 1978.

Dr. Simmons has been in practice at the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital campus since 1978. He has served as chief of numerous hospital committees and sections, including the department of surgery, and he is currently the chief of the division of plastic surgery.

Dr. Simmons believes strongly in honesty and professionalism. He provides thorough preoperative evaluation and patient education as to realistic anticipated results, and strives to provide competent and caring post-operative care
